In light of ongoing events in Fort McMurray, UNA provincial office has communicated agreement with AHS Labour Relations. We have agreed to the following:
(1) The wildfire in Fort McMurray constitutes an emergency for the purposes of Article 44.05(e) of the Collective Agreement. This permits the employer to redeploy staff to other sites to address the emergency circumstances. AHS will reimburse all reasonable, necessary and substantiated additional accommodation and transportation costs for traveling between sites including parking if not otherwise provided. The emergency provisions do not alter any other terms of the collective agreement.
(2) UNA agrees to extend timelines for discipline, grievance process, PRC and OHS until May 31st, 2016. This extension applies only to the North Zone.
