Avi Lewis keynote in Calgary

Dear Local 115 Members:

Our affiliate partner Public Interest Alberta is hosting Avi Lewis as a keynote speaker in Calgary on April 8 at 7pm at the John Dutton Theatre. This is an amazing opportunity to see a top notch speaker and activist here in Calgary.

Local 115 has pre-purchased 10 tickets for members to attend. The first 10 members to reply to this email will be awarded the tickets. Having said that, any Local 115 member attending the Calgary event will be reimbursed for the price of the admission ticket upon proof of purchase. Ticket value is $20.

Avi Lewis is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and television journalist. His first feature length film, The Take (2004), followed Argentina’s new movement of worker-run businesses and was released theatrically, winning several awards. In 2010 and 2009 Avi hosted Al Jazeera English Television’s Fault Lines. He has also worked at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as the host of On the Map, The Big Picture, and counterSpin. Currently he is directing a feature documentary called The Message: the (r)evolutionary power of climate change.
