Dec. 22, 2014 CFNU Revised Policy Directive

The first attached document from the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) is a revised Policy Directive covering protocols and procedures, employer containment measures, staffing/training, personal protective equipment (PPE), and communications related to the Ebola Disease Virus.

This December 22, 2014 Policy Directive replaces the October 20, 2014 Policy Directive issued by CFNU.

The second attached document is a memorandum explaining the revision.

The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions believes that the precautionary principle is protective of workers’ health and safety, and that must be used to guide decision-making with respect to infection control. It is CFNU’s position that no nurse, or other health care personnel, should have unprotected exposure to EVD.
