National Pharmacare Plan: Part 1

A National Pharmacare Plan could save Canadians $11 billion per year. What could we do with that money instead?

Home Care:
– $4 billion old be allocated to home care, providing $80 million more home care visits = 220,000 more seniors that could receive daily home care each year.

Community Health Centres:
– With another 4 billion, we could build over 725 community health centres, providing 2 million more Canadians with high quality integrated care to respond to both physical and mental health needs.

Long-Term Care:
– $0.5 billion could provide 10,000 more long-term care beds per year.

Human Resources:
– The last $2.5 billion could hire 28,000 nurses, which would reduce overtime in our hospital sector and improve safety.
