The B.C. Teachers’ Federation says it will be ramping up its job action with four days of rotating strikes that will begin on Monday.
The news comes after the B.C. Liberals threatened last week to cut teachers’ wages by five per cent if a new deal isn’t signed by the end of June.
BCTF president Jim Iker says the province has been divided into four groups of school districts. Each day next week, one of these four groups of districts will be behind picket lines. For example on Monday, Vancouver and 15 other districts will be shut down.
