However in addition to the Sunday Rally, another "walk" will take place on Monday March 3 at 16:00 at the Legislature. The spring sitting of the Legislature and the Throne Speech will be Monday March 3rd.
Thursday March 20, 2014 Day of Action
A Worksite Day of Action, meaning information walks over the lunch period at worksites, MLA offices or general meeting locations will be held on Thursday, March 20th.
The Labour Coalition has identified a number of primary locations across the province in major centres, but any worksite or community is encouraged to plan an event for members. These events will be multi-union.
An example for UNA:
At the University Hospital Local 301, we hope that AUPE and HSAA will also participate. We have agreed to share Union contacts for each of the worksites. In the case of the University worksite walk, NASA (the Non-Academic Staff Association) will be asking its members from the University of Alberta to join the walk at the University Hospital. Municipal workers (CUPE), community workers and off-duty firefighters who may be in that vicinity will also be encouraged to drop by the University Hospital.
Details and organizing information will be sent as soon as they are completed. The Coalition is putting together "A Rally in a Box" kit to assist any worksite or group that would like to participate. No action is too small. Every action is significant.
We are also reaching out to other organizations (eg, Public Interest Alberta, Seniors and Retirees) and will inform them of locations and events across the province.
I will provide futher information, but if you have any questions or want to discuss a Day of Action event please call me at Provincial Office.
I have attached a pdf of sites identified for the March 20th Day of Action. This is the primary list suggested by the Coalition, but we ecnourage all worksites to consider undertaking an event.
